Members of UVA’s counseling and accountability team at the school’s mid-year convocation

Educators and staff from University View Academy (UVA) recently joined together at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center in Baton Rouge to officially kick off the new semester of “#MissionPossible.” Faculty and staff reconnected after winter break and set fresh goals for the spring with a focus on engaging students.

UVA music students treated attendees to a brief in-person recital on a variety of instruments and also included vocal performance. Beta Club and DECA members assisted with the event and had the opportunity to connect with their teachers face-to-face. One student even gifted the e-sports club sponsor with artwork of the team.

The keynote speaker for the event was Dr. Ron Jackson from the LEAD Training Resources Group who urged guests to ROW – Reflect, Optimize, and Work Together. He inspired UVA staff and educators to strive for excellence in teamwork and leadership to best serve students.

Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from members of the superintendent’s advisory council through a Q&A panel. The panel members, including two students and a parent, shared their vision for UVA and answered staff questions. Teachers spent the afternoon in educational breakout sessions on a variety of topics such as edtech platform training, the use of AI in the classroom, and optimizing curriculum accessibility.

The second semester of #MissionPossible promises to be full of innovative education! We are looking forward to an amazing 2024 at UVA.
