University View Academy (UVA) hosted its first science fair on Friday, March 28. Students from across elementary, middle, and high school presented their investigations to a panel of judges, both virtually and in-person, at UVA’s Lynx Den STEAM facility.
“It was inspiring to see my students apply what they’ve learned in class,” said middle school science teacher Dannica Kenner. “This thoughtful scientific inquiry is what scientists do. I am incredibly proud of them for their hard work and dedication.”
Families helped their students set up colorful poster boards and hands-on demonstrations. One student even brought a Tesla coil and a homemade Faraday cage to safely demonstrate electricity. Teachers and families waited eagerly outside the judging area as each student explained their hypotheses, experiments, and results.
Congratulations to all students who completed a project this year. The first and second place winners for each school level are listed below:
First place:
- Oni Price – Elementary School
