Members of the University View Academy DECA chapter attended the Louisiana DECA Sports & Entertainment Marketing Conference held Jan. 26 at the New Orleans Smoothie King Center. Students had the opportunity to hear from members of the NBA New Orleans Pelicans and enjoy a Pelicans basketball game.
Several University View Academy students were selected to compete in the “Marketing Minute.” This event provided participants an opportunity to generate a marketing idea that could be conducted in the audience stands or on the basketball court during a minute-long timeout. DECA members Charlee Palma and Brock Sykes placed 2nd in the competition.
DECA is available at University View Academy for high school students. University View Academy’s chapter has won several association and state-level awards and recognitions. The chapter is involved in various service projects and competitions around Louisiana throughout the year. University View Academy DECA members will participate in the La. DECA State Career Development Conference at the end of February.
