Two University View Academy students will participate in the State Literary Rally in April at LSU after scoring well enough in the District competition. Andre Guiteau-Laurent advanced in English III and Anyalina Vertigan advanced in Algebra I. Anyalina is a seventh-grader who competed with ninth-graders.
The Rally is an opportunity for students to showcase their academic and performance abilities in friendly competitions. There are more than 70 academic and performance events, with multiple chances for students to compete. More than 4,000 students from over 350 schools have participated in State Rally in recent years after advancing from their District Rally.
Chloe Borne, Rhama Fayed, Hannah Gravois, Andre Guiteau-Laurent, Kaylee Johnson, Amelia Losh, and Anyalina Vertigan competed in various academic events on UVA’s behalf at the District Rally. Their teachers nominated them because of their performances in courses.
