UVA alumnus Christopher Boeneke, class of 2025, took classes this summer to complete the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Technologies: Diesel Heavy Truck Technology Concentration through UVA’s partnership with Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC). Christopher earned the following certifications and degrees:

  • ASE Entry-Level Automobile Electrical/Electronic Systems industry-based certification
  • Certificate of Technical Studies in Truck Steering, Suspension, & Brakes
  • Technical Diploma in Diesel Heavy Truck Technician
  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Technologies: Diesel Heavy Truck Technology Concentration


Due to his accomplishments, Christopher was recently offered a full-time position with Kenworth, the company where he interned as part of the degree program.

“I was so impressed with Christopher’s commitment, determination, and drive to complete this AAS degree along with his high school courses,” said Tiffany Bacon, UVA’s Career Tech Education counselor. “He handled the demanding course load gracefully each semester, and BRCC has had nothing but compliments about Christopher since his first DE class! I will miss working with Christopher, but I know he will continue to impress and shine bright wherever he goes.”

UVA’s Early College & Career Academy allows eligible high schoolers to earn college credit while simultaneously working towards their high school diploma. Juniors and seniors following the career tech education pathway have the opportunity to pursue an Associate of Applied Science, a Technical Diploma, or a Certificate of Technical Studies.
