Samantha Armentor is a high school student at University View Academy who enrolled in the school because she wanted to get access to the advanced courses that U View offers.
The New Iberia resident came into the school year wanting to take advanced French, English, and Math classes and her mother, Cheri, felt University View was the perfect school for her daughter to achieve this.
“I knew that Samantha needed a higher-level academic experience, but we couldn’t find the right fit,” said Cheri. “While doing volunteering work last year, I met University View teacher Mrs. Melissa Vital-Liggans, who told me about the school. After that, it was full speed ahead!”
In her spare time, Samantha loves reading. She is looking forward to joining the school’s Literary Rally Team, as well as the Beta Club and National Honor Society. Away from the school, she is a member of the Friends group of Longfellow-Evangeline State Historic Site and the Iberia Parish Teen Library Board of course.
“I just love reading,” said Samantha. “My favorite genres are sci-fi and fantasy.”
When she’s not being a bookworm, Samantha also enjoys playing the piano and working to become fluent in French. The advanced courses from U View will certainly get her on her way to that!
