UVA’s school performance score improves to highest score ever.

BATON ROUGE, LA – The Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) released today the 2025 School Performance Scores (SPS) and letter grades for all public schools and school systems. The results confirm a sustained trend of improvement at University View Academy (UVA), showing that UVA’s SPS increased again in 2025.

UVA’s SPS increased by 3.0 points, rising from 67.9 in 2024 to 70.9 in 2025. This achievement marks the highest score recorded under the state’s current 150-point accountability system and solidifies UVA’s post-pandemic academic recovery. The 2025 score demonstrates a growth of over 15 points since 2019. UVA’s overall letter grade remained a ‘C’ for the fifth consecutive year.

“UVA students continue to make progress. Significant growth in our graduation rate, strength of diploma, and cohort graduation rate index are testaments to our student-first commitment to ensure that all students are ready for college or career and beyond,” said UVA Superintendent Dr. Quentina Timoll. “While we celebrate achieving this new milestone, we recognize that the path to educational excellence requires sustained effort. We are focused on building on this momentum to ensure every child is prepared for the future.”

When announcing the results to staff, Deputy Superintendent Lekisha Chambers shared, “As a public charter, it is imperative that we remain steady in our efforts and grow in our academic achievement. Our current accountability practices have significantly contributed to our growth in SPS. We are confident that our instructional practices and flexibility adjustments will continue to yield notable gains in student achievement moving forward under the revised accountability model next year.”
