University View Academy 8th grader Josiah Jordan was invited to the National Team Camp at the Olympic Training Center as one of the top gymnasts in the nation in his age group. This experience gave Jordan the opportunity to train alongside some of the nation’s best gymnasts, with a coaching staff that included former Olympians and National Team coaches. Only five athletes were invited to attend out of all Level 8 and 9 gymnasts across the region. Jordan also made history as the first gymnast from Louisiana to be invited. During the event, Jordan had the second-highest difficulty performed in his age group, showcasing the incredible skill and dedication he has put into gymnastics.

“I enjoy gymnastics because of how hard of a sport it is,” Jordan said. “Some lessons I learned from gymnastics are to never give up and work hard.”

A resident of St. John the Baptist Parish, Jordan has been participating in gymnastics since he was six years old. A diligent student, he enrolled at UVA in fifth grade and is now a member of UVA’s Junior Beta Club chapter. Jordan previously placed 5th at the 2026 National Beta Convention for Health and P. E.

“I do my work on time and get all A’s,” Jordan said. “My outlook on life is to do what I think would make me the best version of myself.”

Jordan aspires to one day become a lawyer. His goal is to join Stanford’s prestigious men’s gymnastics team.

“Whatever you believe, you can achieve,” Jordan shared.
