Elementary students recently enjoyed an afternoon of math fun at University View Academy’s (UVA) second annual Numeracy Day and Math Olympics.
Students participated both virtually and in-person in several math challenges. Elementary math teachers set up tables by grade level and filled the room with puzzles and games. Students practiced simple geometry, multiplication tables, explored values through cards, and more. As students completed the challenges at each station, they earned various prizes.
Numeracy Day is part of UVA’s ongoing efforts to reinforce strong math instruction in the earliest grades. Students succeed when skills are intentionally targeted and reinforced.
