She transitioned from a career in healthcare to education. She holds a Master of Public Administration from LSU and a Bachelor of Science degree from Jackson State University. She completed her teacher certification through Alcorn State University. She also completed the Educational Leadership Program through Advance Innovative Education and is part of the National Institute of School Leadership Executive Development Program.
